Border Patrol agents on Friday discovered a tunnel running underneath part of the DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales.
The tunnel was discovered after a passenger bus traveling south into Mexico ended up causing the road to collapse partially, according to a U.S. Border Patrol news release.
An unfinished tunnel was then found running underneath the southbound lanes at the port, the release said. The tunnel ran from Mexico to a tunnel near Grand Avenue in Nogales, the release said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the road collapse, and the bus was not damaged, the release said.
The tunnel was the sixth discovered by Border Patrol agents since October, according to the release.
