Authorities seized nearly 50 assault rifles and 800 pounds of marijuana after getting a call about fight at Phoenix home.
Phoenix police officers responded to a call about a possible fight about 4 a.m. Friday morning at a home near 27th Street and Indian School Road. Officers found a broken arcadia door in the back of the home. The officers went into the home to search for the people who were reportedly fighting.
Instead, officers found nearly 100 pounds of marijuana as well as what appeared to be blood stains on the floor, Phoenix Police Department Sgt. Steve Martos said.
Police believe the house was the scene of a home invasion.
While executing a search warrant at the home, police came across information leading to a second house near El Mirage and Camelback roads. It contained an additional 300 pounds of marijuana.
Information led police to a third house, near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road. It contained 49 AK-47 assault rifles, six large tote bins full of AK-47 banana clips, 400 pounds of marijuana and two handguns.
