USA v. AZ

The Lawsuit against Arizona has been filed.

IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE DISTRICT OF ARIZONA,

The United States of America, Plaintiff,
v.
The State of Arizona; and Janice K. Brewer, Governor of the State of Arizona, in her Official Capacity, Defendants.

Yes, indeed, the Federal Government is suing Arizona to preserve the right of the Federal Government to choose not to enforce it's border.

I wonder though, why is no one suing Tennessee?  or Virginia?

It's because Arizona is an easy target with less than 2% of the population of the country.

Update:  Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris has joined with the Federal Government in this lawsuit in spite of the fact that his department has been enforcing the same basic rules of SB1070 for 2 years.

In case you're wondering why the words Police Chief are italicized above, it would be because Jack Harris retired as Police Chief and collects his pension.  The very next work day he was hired as the Director of Public Safety or some such - a position which didn't exist until he realized he could double dip while doing the same job.  An extraordinary piece of shit er, work.

Heard that people from all over the country are sending money to help pay for the fight against the Feds. Pretty cool.
