McCain smackdown

The best McCain smackdown ever is delivered by Andrew McCarthy in his thoroughly correct repudiation of National Reviews endorsement of McCain over Hayworth in the Primary.

 

Red the whole thing.  It's quite thorough in it's listing of the many reasons McCain is no Conservative and is no friend of Conservatives.

1. opposition to the Bush tax cuts, often voiced in cringe-making class-warfare terms — self-righteous rhetoric being a McCain trademark.
2. support for cap and trade scheme 
3. support for bail outs: Tarp, auto industry, mortgages which should never have been issued
4. his allegedly pro-life position isn't really so pro - he did support Supreme Court Justices Roberts, Thomas, and Alito, has also voted to confirm four justices who’ve upheld abortion rights (Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, and Breyer).  And he bragged that he voted for Clinton's 2 pro-abort justices.
5. unconstitutional and un-Conservative restraints on free speech
6. opposition to Patriot Act
7. opposition to Bush judicial nominees including creating the Gang of 14
8. support of govt funding for embryonic stem cell research
9. advocating the closure of Gitmo based on the words of a terrorist (which I witnessed and recorded myself)
10. lead the charge for amnesty in 2007
11. alleges that the USA tortures detainees

 This list could go on and on and on.  Retire the Progressive pretending to be a Conservative.
