(My Congressman) Shadegg Leads Trip to ANWR

My Congressman, John Shadegg went to Alask with a group of House Members to visit ANWR. Well, it's about time! Good on ya Congressman Shadegg! I'm still bursting with pride over you standing up to SanFranNan!

Maybe, just maybe, with soon-to-be Vice President Palin can convince soon-to-be President McCain that drilling in ANWR would be a good thing - and the moose love it! (Speaking of Palin, did I mention her husband is a studmuffin??! Well, I did at about 4:55pm MST on the Hugh Hewitt, the smartest man on the air today, show this afternoon!)

Shadegg Leads Trip to ANWR

“I’m looking forward to speaking with Alaskans and hearing the ways in which increased development will impact their quality of life.”

Washington, Aug 18 - This week, Congressman John Shadegg (R-AZ) will lead a group of House Members on a visit to Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The three day educational tour of the area will focus on the energy resources available, the environmental surroundings in the region, and local perspectives on increased production and development.

“I’m looking forward to speaking with Alaskans and hearing the ways in which increased development will impact their quality of life. Our group will also have an opportunity to learn more about the evolution of technology since development began in Prudhoe Bay.

Energy is a critical issue on which Congress must make better-informed policy decisions. That’s why I am taking this opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the situation on the ground in ANWR and to learn about the effects of development. We can, and should, access our domestic resources in an ecologically responsible manner. More American-made energy won’t just bring down current energy prices, it will create jobs and put more money back into the American economy, enabling investment in the alternative sources of energy that will power this nation in the future.”
