Israel FINALLY strikes back!
On Friday, a Hamas spokesman made Israel the following proposal: You keep the stream of humanitarian aid and supplies flowing into Gaza and we will keep launching rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians.
It was an offer Israel had little choice but to refuse.
For weeks Israel has been imploring Hamas to stop shooting across the border, to stop tunneling in preparation for the next round of violence, and to allow our farmers to tend their fields. The Islamists responded that they were not afraid of the IDF and that they reserved the right to resist "the occupation" - meaning the existence of a Jewish state. They brazenly told Israel to get used to the idea that no amount of humanitarian gestures would stem their behavior.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Israel finally told Hamas that it would not be bled, slowly, to death. Thanks to excellent intelligence and superb training, a haughty enemy was caught off-guard. Targets up and down the Strip were hit and large numbers of Hamas personnel including senior military figures were killed. Key facilities were turned into rubble; well-camouflaged equipment was destroyed.
In launching "Operation Cast Lead," Defense Minister Ehud Barak, declared, "There is a time for calm and there is a time for fighting, and now is the time for fighting." And Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, flanked by Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, said that Israel had done everything possible to avoid this escalation, but that its entreaties for quiet had been met with disdain.
The IDF's mission is not to bring down the Hamas regime, but to bring quiet to the South. In a sense we are asking Hamas to stop being Hamas. The Islamists need to decide whether they want to go down in flames or are prepared to take on the responsibilities that come with control over the Strip. They may give Israel no choice but to topple their administration.
To their credit, Israeli decision makers are avoiding the kind of bombastic rhetoric all of us came to regret in the course of the Second Lebanon War and its aftermath. Now, what ordinary Israelis demand is that their government deliver, as promised, quiet to the South. We do not expect this operation to be fast or easy. We do expect it to succeed.
Israelis must unite and be vigilant. Regrettably, we've already seen rioting among some east Jerusalem Palestinians. The possibility of disturbances among our Arab citizens cannot be discounted. Hamas rockets may reach targets heretofore thought to be beyond enemy range; their threats to launch suicide attacks must be taken with utmost seriousness. And Diaspora Jews also need be on alert.
On A quiet post-Christmas weekend, the events in Gaza have captured world attention. From an unsympathetic foreign media, we are already hearing complaints that Israel's retaliation is "disproportionate" and a form of "collective punishment." That over 200 Palestinians have been killed compared to only one Israeli leads some journalists to conclude that Israel is inherently in the wrong. One British news anchor wondered why her government had not already demanded that Israel halt its operation. There was a grudging understanding that Hamas uses Palestinian non-combatants as human shields, along with an unreasonable demand that Israel magically find a way not to harm any of them.
The formula for purchasing the affection of those who suffer from moral relativism is sickeningly clear: if one Jew is killed, we get very little piety. If, heaven forbid, an Israeli kindergarten was to take a direct hit - Israel might, temporarily, gain the sympathy of news anchors from Paris to London to Madrid.
At that price we would rather forgo their sympathy.
Nevertheless, we expect our diplomats to work 24/7 to make Israel's case to the international community. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has begun that process. In an English-language address she said, "Enough is enough" - Israel would not continue to absorb rockets, mortars and bullets without retaliating.
At this newspaper, we wonder how an international community that can't bring itself to explicitly support Israel's operation against the most intransigent of Muslim fanatics expects to play a positive role in facilitating peace in this region.
Hamas must be stopped. And the civilized world must help stop it.
Let those who have ears to hear, hear that!

A Red, White, and Blue Christmas
"This year’s theme celebrates the patriotic spirit that unites us as Americans. During this hopeful season we are reminded of the blessings of freedom we enjoy, and we renew our sense of what is important in our lives. Family and friends gather to share old traditions and create new ones. Strangers exchange smiles and tidings of good cheer. Children happily sing along to the songs of the holidays and help bake holiday treats for their loved ones."
- President and Mrs. Bush
This is the way to celebrate Christmas in America! Can you just believe those incredible Ornaments!?? And it's not just one per state! Each state has at least one, of course, but it seems they all have two for the state and one for each congressional district! Even though my own state of Arizona is really one of the smaller states, there are two ornaments for the state and one for each of the eight congressional districts! Check Arizonas 3rd congressional district.

Rush Limbaugh loves Sarah Palin!
And here you have the best reason for Sara Palin to keep doing what she is doing. She helped get Saxby Chambliss elected. She was the first to accept the CPAC invitation for next year. She is playing for keeps. If Rush has her back in 2012, the Conservatives will be there too, and she will be tough to beat.
Darn right! When Conservatives run AS CONSERVATIVES with traditional values, they always win!

9 decapitated in Tijuana, Mexico
34 Dead in Mexico border violence
The border town just minutes from San Diego, California, lost three of its police officers and a 4-year-old boy in the violence.(UPI) - Mexican authorities say a weekend of gang violence has left 34 people dead in the border town of Tijuana, including three police officers and a 4-year-old boy.The decapitated bodies of the police officers were found alongside six other beheaded victims in a residential neighborhood, the result of a brutal turf battle between rival drug gangs, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Monday. At a grocery store in eastern Tijuana Saturday night gunmen shot and killed two boys, one 4 years old and another 13 years old, along with two adults.Several hours later the 18-year-old nephew of Baja California's tourism secretary was found shot to death inside a vehicle in an upscale neighborhood a few miles east of downtown."It's a very difficult situation," said Alberto Capella Ibarra, Tijuana's secretary of public safety during a Sunday morning radio interview. The weekend deaths bring to 360 the number of people killed in the drug wars since late September. The death toll for all of 2007 was 337.

Sons of the Flying Imams
Shortly before noon on a sunny Sunday in March, two Toyota SUVs rolled to a stop along a dirt road in north Phoenix.
About 20 young Muslim males climbed out, armed with assault rifles, a shotgun, a sniper rifle and handguns. The location near Happy Valley Road and 51st Avenue [less than three miles from my home and less than 10 miles from the Ben Avery pulic shooting range. Gee, I wonder why they didn't go there?? - Kirls] is a desert recreation site for off-road motorists, hikers and bikers, dozens of whom were enjoying the spring-like weather. [hmmm, 20 young muslim males? Now, where have we heard anything unpleasant about (approximately) 20 young muslim men before? - Kirls]
For more than an hour, the shooters blasted away at a granite rock and empty cans in front of a hill. [an hour??? where the heck were the authorities??? this is a popular hiking area!!! - Kirls
Officials estimate the fusillade totaled 500 to 1,000 rounds. Some shooters left before police arrived and detained 10 adults and five boys, including an 11-year-old.
The young men and boys told officers the weapons belonged to their parents. They said they were not aware it was illegal to use firearms in the residential area.
Six were arrested and charged with felony weapons violations in Maricopa County Superior Court. Among them were the 20- and 21-year-old sons of two imams at Phoenix-area mosques, as well as the 20-year-old son of Abdallah. [ah yes, raising 'em right i see. you know, to obey civil laws. oh, wait, it IS illegal to discharge a firearm within the city limits there. - Kirls]
Phoenix police then notified the Arizona Counter Terrorism Center, a clearinghouse for intelligence, and the case was referred to the FBI, Lewis confirmed. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was called to trace the guns, its Arizona chief said.Soliman Saadeldin, brother of one of the imams on the jetliner and a board member at the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix, was not surprised by the
reaction.
"Twenty Muslims? Of course the FBI, the CIA and the White House would be worried," Saadeldin said. [right, because 20 young muslim males never did anything violent or illegal before - Kirls]
Valley Islamic leaders were furious at the youngsters, he added, knowing how the incident might be perceived. [I'll bet. Furious about tipping your hand at what you're training these young men for. - Kirls]"I'm one of those who got mad at them. (But) they went over there just to have fun shooting. ... It's showing off more than anything else," Saadeldin said.
He described the target shooting as merely bad judgment by a group of young guys out for a good time.
I listen to local radio pretty much all day nearly every day and strangely enough, I never heard anything about this until the news was 6 months old.
Something I find rather strange in that article is the statement about "spring-like weather". Who would expect "spring-like weather" in March? in Phoenix? duh!
I hope these little jihadi-wannabes get thrown in jail for a very long time. Including the 11-year old. As we just learned here in Arizona, even a child can kill.

Half-dozen agencies accessed records of Joe the Plumber!
The election is over, but the Joe the Plumber case is not.Ohio Inspector General Tom Charles said his office is now looking at a half-dozen agencies that accessed state records on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher. The Beacon Journal has learned that, in addition to the Department of Job and Family Services, two other state offices — the Ohio Department of Taxation and Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers — conducted database searches of Joe the Plumber.Wurzelbacher became an instant celebrity after he asked Barack Obama a series of questions in his Toledo driveway about the Democrat's tax policies. In the third debate between Obama and Republican John McCain on Oct. 15, the candidates referred to Joe the Plumber more than 20 times. The next day, the taxation department conducted two separate searches of a database of liens for unpaid taxes that were certified to the Ohio Attorney General's Office for collection.John Kohlstrand, a taxation department spokesman, said he is prohibited from talking about individual taxpayers, but he confirmed that the databases were checked. The searches were done to determine whether a lien placed against the individual was appropriate and whether it remained unpaid or not, Kohlstrand said. The department's first search of the day was unsuccessful because of incorrect information about the individual, Kohlstrand said. Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers' office then contacted taxation because it was having difficulty accessing the database, Kohlstrand said. After the two agencies talked, taxation completed a successful search.Kohlstrand said that the AG's office wanted access to the records so they could turn over to the national media lien information that was a public record in Lucas County. He said the national media did not have reporters in Toledo, so the attorney general'soffice was helping them out with public records. On the day following the two searches, the taxation department conducted a search of another in-house database that tracks cases and correspondence between taxpayers and the department before the liens being certified and turned over to the attorney general for collection.Rick Anthony, deputy tax commissioner, said there are times when a payment can be in the pipeline so a lien appears unpaid when in fact the taxpayer or business has repaid the state.Anthony said the database searches on both days were conducted to ensure that the information in Lucas County was being properly reported by the media.''Wouldn't that have been a disaster if the lien had been paid,'' Kohlstrand said. ''The responsible thing for us to do would be to take prompt steps to make it right.''''We are not aware of any inappropriate browsing of information by anyone in our department pertaining to Mr. Wurzelbacher,'' Kohlstrand said.Jim Gravelle, a spokesman for Attorney General Rogers, said he could not comment on individual records because of privacy issues. He said he would not confirm or deny that the AG's office went to taxation or whether his office had been queried by the inspector general. The day after the debate, media outlets began reporting that Joe the Plumber's real name was Samuel, he was not a licensed plumber and he owed close to $1,200 in back taxes and additional money to a hospital. His home was besieged by media outlets, including television crews that camped on his lawn.Wurzelbacher had questioned Obama's plan to raise taxes for anyone with an income exceeding $250,000 because he planned to purchase his own plumbing business. His current income made him eligible for a tax break under Obama's plan.Wurzelbacher later endorsed McCain at a campaign stop in Ohio and hired the Pathfinder Management group in Nashville to manage his career.Kohlstrand would not comment on an investigation by the inspector general, but Charles confirmed Thursday that he is looking into the taxation department to determine whether their searches were appropriate.Charles said he does not know at this point if anyone in any of the agencies did anything wrong. The inspector general began investigating after news reports surfaced that Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, ordered her agency to conduct background checks on Joe the Plumber.Jones-Kelley maintains that her agency routinely checks on people who are thrust into the spotlight to determine whether they have unpaid child support bills, are receiving public support from her department or owe unemployment taxes. After the election, Gov. Ted Strickland placed Jones-Kelley on paid leave. The governor said the suspension was for a matter unrelated to the background checks on Joe the Plumber.

Ohio State official on leave during investigation
Strickland puts director on leave in fundraising probeJob and Family
Services chief sidelined during investigation
Friday, November 7, 2008
11:18 PM
Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland placed the director of the Department of Job and Family Services on paid leave today for possibly using a state computer and e-mail account for political fund-raising.E-mails obtained today by The Dispatch show that Helen Jones-Kelley's e-mail account was used to assist the presidential campaign of Democrat Barack Obama in raising money.
Strickland asked Inspector General Thomas P. Charles to investigate the unconfirmed" matter and named Jan Allen, secretary of the governor's cabinet, as acting agency director.
The state e-mails show Jones-Kelley provided the Obama campaign with the names of 17 potential Dayton-area contributors ahead of the candidate's July 11 appearance
there. In July 8, the director offered to write a $2,500 check to the campaign to join Obama at his appearance, volunteered to contact would-be contributors and offered to help arrange an event for Michelle Obama, the candidate's wife.
At least one of the potential donors identified by Jones-Kelley contributed $9,600 to Obama for America and the Obama Victory Fund on July 31, according to Federal Election Commission records. Jones-Kelley also gave $2,500.
The e-mails that led to Jones-Kelley's suspension came to light in response to a public-records request by The Dispatch, said Keith Dailey, Strickland's press secretary. The newspaper requested the records Oct. 26, before Obama was elected president Tuesday.
The inspector general already was investigating if job and family services computers were used illegally to obtain confidential information on "Joe the Plumber," a Toledo-area man popularized by Republican John McCain.
The e-mails about the Dayton event show Jones-Kelley corresponded with Michael O'Neil, who is listed as an Obama fundraiser. O'Neil did not answer a telephone number he listed in his e-mails. Jones-Kelley could not be located for comment. Obama's Ohio campaign spokesman did not return calls.
Jones-Kelley, who lives in Dayton, was director of the Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services before her appointment as state director by Democrat Strickland.
Other e-mails showed Jones-Kelley receiving information of a partisan political nature through her state e-mail account. One e-mail included an attached donation form for the Obama campaign.
Strickland administration polices forbid the use of state time, equipment and property for election-related purposes. Jones-Kelley sent a memo to all of her employees on Oct. 21 reminding them of the prohibition.
Meanwhile, the State Highway Patrol is providing security for Jones-Kelley because of numerous threats she has received regarding her agency's checks into Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber."
"We are involved in a protection detail for her, but the specifics of the detail I couldn't go into simply because of the nature of it. , said Sgt. Timothy Karwatske. Strickland's office requested the security, he said.
After The Dispatch reported that state child-support computers were checked for potential information on Wurzelbacher, Jones-Kelley said checks are made on newsworthy figures that may have come into some money.
She later disclosed that state computers also were used to conduct checks to determine if Wurzelbacher was receiving welfare assistance or owed unemployment compensation taxes. Legislative Republicans suggested the checks were politically motivated, a charge denied by Strickland and Jones-Kelley.
Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine said in a news release yesterdaythat the Strickland administration now presides over an apparent "political party machine."
"The Strickland administration has already demonstrated a profound and reckless
disregard for personal privacy, and now they're apparently abusing government
resources to raise political contributions," DeWine said.Wuzelbacher became a national fixture when he questioned Obama about his tax policies, leading McCain to frequently mention "Joe the Plumber" during the candidates' final debate on Oct. 15. The state checks on Wurzelbacher began the next day.
The Dispatch also revealed that Bureau of Motor Vehicles computers were improperly tapped for information on Wurzelbacher. Investigations have placed the blame on a Toledo police clerk, a state contractor and a Cuyahoga County child-support worker.

Radio Equalizer Exclusive! Libtalker on air wishes Joe the Plumber dead!
BREAKING: KGO / San Francisco libtalker / Obama supporter Karel has been caught on tape calling for the death of Joe The Plumber.
According to a key industry source, this DID go out over the airwaves.
Here's the clip (NOTE -- EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING):
Karel, also known as Charles Karel Bouley, is an evening and weekend host at KGO radio in San Francisco. This incident occurred during Saturday evening's show.
Based in Los Angeles, Karel is a gay activist who also writes for the HuffPOO {edited official name and removed link - Kirls}.
This latest incident caps a weekend of unhinged behavior by Obama's supporters, including a call for the death of Mormons campaigning on behalf of Proposition 8 in California and the push for an investigation into the "leak" that Obama's aunt was an illegal alien facing deportation.
It also adds to a number of dubious recent developments at the Citadel - ABC Radio powerhouse station, including a widely-anticipated station announcement that actually turned out to be a cheap campaign stunt for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
In addition, KGO and ultra- liberal station manager Mickey Luckoff have generated negative headlines this year for throwing a lavish party at the Four Seasons Hotel in the midst of staff layoffs and attempts to rehire convicted child porn distributor / libtalker Bernie Ward while he was awaiting trial.

Sarah Palin - Voice of America
Every time I hear Sarah Palin talking — more and more to jubilant overflow crowds — I hear the voice of America speaking. The other day, I was calling a bank in the small town in Iowa in which my wife Karen grew up (the same hometown as the Nobel Prize winner Norman Borlaug). After a few sentences, I told the clerk speaking on the telephone that she sounded just like Sarah Palin, and not only because she once answered me “you betcha.” My nephew, who goes to school in the same town, had just handed in a school paper in which he wrote: “Sarah Palin talks just like us.”A few weeks before, my aunt in western Pennsylvania (John Murtha’s district, recently cruelly slandered by him), celebrated her 80-something birthday with a large surprise party attended by her whole side of the family. A great deal of kindness and mutual concern passed from person to person. I heard many voices that sound a good bit like Sarah Palin’s. The same guts. The same common sense. The same instincts. The same sense of America.I wonder if most of the people who are today dissing Sarah Palin, at least among a few conservatives I greatly admire, are more accustomed to debating highly educated liberals. Could it be that they understand the diction of journalism and the academy better than they understand the speech of most of America? They understand the maturity, sophistication, and rationalization of their own world better than the simpler but truer instincts of most of America.I can’t help thinking, when I hear them, that it is not Sarah Palin they feel far superior to, and embarrassed by. It is the life and common sense of most of the humbler American people — and not only in rural areas, but also in the myriad cities and towns that have populations of 100,000 or less. More Americans live in such environments than in the large “sophisticated” cities. And it is they who seem disproportionately to give their lives for this country, more so than the rest of America. Not coincidentally, the schools in these smaller towns seem to hold to considerably higher standards than those in the big cities. And more people in them seem to be in touch with the frontier traditions of America (even western Pennsylvania was once the frontier) than in more “sophisticated” environments....Just because Alaska is far from New York, she later said, doesn’t mean Alaskans don’t read. The same magazines and papers come there as everywhere else in America. And it is not obvious that the more you read them, let me add, the better in touch with reality you become.
First actual exit poll - McCain landslide!
First exit poll of actual American votes from Israel shows big McCain win
Within the last hour, the first exit poll of 817 Americans in Israel, who attended U.S. election voting events in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening to vote by absentee ballot, has been released.
A startling 76 percent of those polled said that they had voted for John McCain. This contrasts sharply with pre-election polls of American Jews in the U.S., which indicate a strong preference for Obama.
The exit poll findings of American voters in Israel are all the more surprising because less than one in four were registered Republicans, and 46% of registered Democrats living in Israel said they had crossed party lines to vote McCain. By contrast, the Republican crossover to Obama was minimal – just 2%.
The votes are significant as almost half of the 42,000 registered U.S. voters living in Israel come from key swing states including Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In the 2000 and 2004 elections, Israel had the third-largest group of American voters abroad, after Canada and Britain. The exit poll was commissioned by Votefromisrael.org, an independent, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting voter registration and participation amongst American citizens living in Israel.

Records searches anger Joe the Plumber
The Toledo-area man, who was elevated to fame after he challenged Democrat Barack Obama over his tax policies during a street-side chat, formally endorsed McCain at the Flag Lady's Flag Store in the Beechwold neighborhood.Authorities in Toledo and Cleveland confirmed today that workers accessed Wurzelbacher's driving record and vehicle information through state computer systems in checks uncovered by The Dispatch. The Toledo Police Department announced that a records clerk improperly pulled Wurzelbacher's information on behalf of a reporter for a Toledo television station the day after the Oct. 15 presidential debate. The clerk has been charged with gross misconduct and faces a disciplinary hearing, said Chief Michael Navarre. He declined to identify the TV station but said the reporter confirmed asking for a check on Wurzelbacher's address. The Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency also said an employee's computer was used to improperly access Bureau of Motor Vehicles records on Wurzelbacher. The employee denies involvement.Another access of Wurzelbacher's information, by an outside contractor with access to an attorney general's office test account, is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol.Inspector General Thomas P. Charles also is investigating why the director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services approved a check on Wurzelbacher through the state's child-support computer system.Director Helen Jones-Kelley said that after a "team meeting," she OK'd the check because the department often runs inquiries to check for unpaid child support on people thrust into "the public spotlight."Wurzelbacher said he has custody of his 13-year-old son and neither pays nor receives child support, leaving him puzzled about why he would be checked.Jones-Kelley said there were no political motivations behind the check. The Democratic appointee has contributed the maximum $2,300 to the Obama campaign this year, according to Federal Election Commission records.Ohio Senate President Bill M. Harris, R-Ashland, wrote Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland that he was disturbed by Jones-Kelley's actions and statements. He asked for records and an explanation."Ohioans are once again questioning the stewardship of their information," Harris wrote today. He also said he did not share Strickland's confidence that there were no political overtones to the Wurzelbacher check.State Rep. William G. Batchelder, R-Medina, called for the director to be placed on leave until the investigation is complete.Strickland spokesman Keith Dailey attributed the Republicans' actions to "baseless political attacks" amid a campaign in which McCain trails.

Joe The Plumber about to be vindicated!
Toledo Police have confirmed that a TPD records clerk is accused of performing an illegal search of information related to 'Joe the Plumber.'
Julie McConnell, has been charged with Gross Misconduct for allegedly making an improper inquiry into a state database in search of information pertaining to Samuel Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16.
Wurzelbacher came under the spotlight after being spoken about during the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.
The inquiry into Wurzelbacher's record is a violation of department and state policy governing the use of the Law Enforcement Automated Data System. The clerk is under fire for making the inquiry for a non-law enforcement purpose.
McConnell was hired by the Toledo Police Department in April 1995 and assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau.
A discplinary hearing will be scheduled within the next ten days.
First the lefties call our troops terrorists; now Obama calls our police officers terrorists
If I asked you to give me ten words you would use to describe a police officer in the United States, I’m pretty sure that “terrorist” wouldn’t make the list.
Then again, you’re not Barack Obama speaking in front of a racist separatist group who believes in abolishing the border between Mexico and the United States and funds school programs that teach that the southwest United States belongs to Mexicans. When communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids, when nursing mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school to find their parents missing, when people are detained without access to legal counsel, when all that is happening, the system just isn’t working, and we need to change it.That’s mighty tough talk from a guy who folded like a cheap suit after a glancing blow from the powder puff New Yorker magazine.

A practical application of the "spread the wealth" concept
Today on my way to lunch I passed a guy hanging around with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that although he had done a great job, and had worked hard to make my dining experience great, I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.I went outside, gave the other guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. He was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the the one guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more.I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
Police prepare for unrest regardless of who wins/loses
Either way you look at it, law enforcement expects riots.
Police departments in cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest.Public safety officials said in interviews with The Hill that the election, which will end with either the nation’s first black president or its first female vice president, demanded a stronger police presence. Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors.Democratic strategists and advocates for black voters say they understand officers wanting to keep the peace, but caution that excessive police presence could intimidate voters.Sen. Obama (Ill.), the Democratic nominee for president, has seen his lead over rival Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) grow in recent weeks, prompting speculation that there could be a violent backlash if he loses unexpectedly.Cities that have suffered unrest before, such as Detroit, Chicago, Oakland and Philadelphia, will have extra police deployed. In Oakland, the police will deploy extra units trained in riot control, as well as extra traffic police, and even put SWAT teams on standby....

Obama Volunteer Reported Jessica Hughes To The Secret Service
Help this story go viral!
As Render (that's ma honey!) put itSummary of the eRumor: An eRumor about a woman named Jessica Hughes who got an unsolicited telephone call from an Obama volunteer. She says that she told the telemarketer that she did not support Obama because he was a "socialist who voted four times in the State Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets." She hung up on the telemarketer and the next day she had to explain her actions to two Secret Service agents who ended up at her door.
The Truth: According to an article written in the The Lufkin Daily News on October 06, 2008, Jessica Hughes got a telephone call on October 1, 2008 from a member of the Obama Volunteers of Texarkana asking for her support of the presidential candidate.
When the volunteer asked her if she was an Obama supporter, Hughes told the volunteer "No, I don't support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time." After that she hung up on the telemarketer. Hughes was referring to The Born Alive Protection Act, Illinois bill that was not supported by Obama and against which he voted 4 times..The following day, two federal agents arrived at the Hughes home inquiring if she said, "I will never support Obama and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor."
Hughes was surprised to see the two agents at her door but says she was more upset by what she said was the volunteer deliberately twisting what she said and turning it into a death threat against the Democratic candidate. The newspaper attempted to contact Josh Taylor, the communications director for the Texas Obama Campaign but he declined comment and referred the matter to the Secret Service, which he said is conducting an investigation."

Slimey little bastards on DU/Kos threaten W's life for eight years and nothing happens. But if you call Obama a socialist you get to meet two Secret Service agents?

Biden's Fantasy World
Liberals wouldn't have to be so flexible if they'd just be honest about their beliefs and positions on the issues.
The Wall Street Journal has a great article about Joe's Fantastic Debate Voyage.
In the popular media wisdom, Sarah Palin is the neophyte who knows nothing about foreign policy while Joe Biden is the savvy diplomatic pro. {Kirls - media wisdom = ultimate oxymoron!} Then what are we to make of Mr. Biden's fantastic debate voyage last week when he made factual claims that would have got Mrs. Palin mocked from New York to Los Angeles?
Start with Lebanon, where Mr. Biden asserted that "When we kicked -- along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't know -- if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.' Now what's happened? Hezbollah is a legitimate part of the government in the country immediately to the north of Israel."The U.S. never kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and no one else has either. Perhaps Mr. Biden meant to say Syria, except that the U.S. also didn't do that. The Lebanese ousted Syria's military in 2005. As for NATO, Messrs. Biden and Obama may have proposed sending alliance troops in, but if they did that was also a fantasy. The U.S. has had all it can handle trying to convince NATO countries to deploy to Afghanistan.
Speaking of which, Mr. Biden also averred that "Our commanding general in Afghanistan said the surge principle in Iraq will not work in Afghanistan." In trying to correct him, Mrs. Palin mispronounced the general's name -- saying "General McClellan" instead of General David McKiernan. But Mr. Biden's claim was the bigger error, because General McKiernan said that while "Afghanistan is not Iraq," he also said a "sustained commitment" to counterinsurgency would be required. That is consistent with Mr. McCain's point that the "surge principles" of Iraq could work in Afghanistan.
Then there's the Senator's astonishing claim that Mr. Obama "did not say he'd sit down with Ahmadinejad" without preconditions. Yet Mr. Biden himself criticized Mr. Obama on this point in 2007 at the National Press Club: "Would I make a blanket commitment to meet unconditionally with the leaders of each of those countries within the first year I was elected President? Absolutely, positively no."
Or how about his rewriting of Bosnia history to assert that John McCain didn't support President Clinton in the 1990s. "My recommendations on Bosnia, I admit I was the first one to recommend it. They saved tens of thousands of lives. And initially John McCain opposed it along with a lot of other people. But the end result was it worked." Mr. Biden's immodesty aside, Mr. McCain supported Mr. Clinton on Bosnia, as did Bob Dole even as he was running against him for President in 1996 -- in contrast to the way Mr. Biden and Democratic leaders have tried to undermine President Bush on Iraq.
Closer to home, the Delaware blarney stone also invited Americans to join him at "Katie's restaurant" in Wilmington to witness middle-class struggles. Just one problem: Katie's closed in the 1980s. The mistake is more than a memory lapse because it exposes how phony is Mr. Biden's attempt to pose for this campaign as Lunchbucket Joe.
We think the word "lie" is overused in politics today, having become a favorite of the blogosphere and at the New York Times. So we won't say Mr. Biden was deliberately making events up when he made these and other false statements. Perhaps he merely misspoke. In any case, Mrs. Palin may not know as much about the world as Mr. Biden does, but at least most of what she knows is true.
The Wall Street Journal may believe that the word lie is used too often in the blogosphere but I certainly do not. A lie is a lie and calling it something else is not something I'm willing to do!
Joe Biden! You are a LIAR!

Another Obama lie
This video goes on to say...
Jill Stanek was a nurse in Illinois when she discovered babies were being aborted alive and left to die in a soiled utility room. When a Down’s syndrome baby was aborted alive and left to die, Jill came in and cradled him for 45 minutes until he passed.Jill’s story helped to inspire the Born Alive Infants Protection Actrr (BAIPA) to insure babies born alive were protected. In the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama actively opposed a state version of BAIPA three times. He voted against it.A federal version of BAIPA which included a neutrality clause in order to protect women’s right to an abortion passed in 2002.Obama said he voted against BAIPA because the state measure didn’t have the federal language.Obama’s own committee added the neutrality clause that matched the federal bill. Then he voted against it again.

The biggest scam in American history: Obama
Obama’s Fishy $200 Million

FUNNY MONEY
An auditor for the Federal Election Commission is attempting to have his bosses seek a formal investigation into the collection by the Obama for President campaign of more than $200 million in potentially illegal political donations, including millions of dollars of illegal, foreign donations, and has sought a request for assistance from the Department of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigation. But the analyst's requests have largely been ignored. "I can't get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a hijacking of our political system that makes the Clinton and Gore fundraising scandals pale in comparison. And no one here wants to touch it."One reasons cited by his superiors, says the analyst, is that involvement by the Justice Department or FBI would be indicative of a criminal investigation, something the FEC would prefer not take place a month before the presidential election. Such actions, though, have been used to scuttle Republican campaigns in the past, the most famous being the Weinberger case in the days leading up to the 1992 re-election bid of President George H.W. Bush. The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution, says that on four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open formal investigations into the Obama campaign's fundraising techniques, but those investigations have been discouraged. "Without formal approval, I can't get the resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge undertaking." And the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations have occurred. The Obama campaign has already had to deal with several FEC complaints about fraudulent donors and illegal foreign contributions, and the FEC says it has no record that those complaints have been resolved or closed. As well, the Obama campaign has been cagey at times about the means by which it has made its historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for the election cycle. The Hillary Clinton campaign raised questions about the huge amount of e-retail sales the Obama campaign was making for such things as t-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked and used for fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against the $2,300 personal donation limit, there have always been lingering questions about the e-retail system."The question has always been, if you buy a $25 t-shirt and you go back to that purchaser eight or nine times with email appeals for $200 or $500 donations, and you have people donating like that all the time, at what point does the campaign bother to check if the FEC limit has been exceeded?" says a former Clinton campaign fundraiser. "There are enough of us from the 1992 and 1996 and 2000 races around to know that many of these kinds of violations never get caught until after the election has been won or lost. In this case, there is no way the Obama campaign will be held accountable before Election Day, unless someone raises holy hell."The FEC analyst says that Obama's filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars. "It's suspicious, but it's the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined. We've raised red flags on many of these and the Obama campaign just ignores us. After this election, after we've sifted through everything -- if we're allowed to sift through everything -- I am confident that we are looking at perhaps the largest fine every leveled against a national campaign entity."Just as frustrating as the lack of desire on the part of his bosses to act, says the analyst, is that major media outlets have ignored the story he has been attempting to tell. Thus far, Newsmax is one of the few publications to cover the Obama campaign finance scam story.
Call me a skeptic (it would be accurate!)

Mac the Sheriff and Sarah the Deputy
James Lewis blogs occasionally at dangeroustimes.wordpress.com.It's Frontier Woman vs. Metrosexual Chic! Hold your breath -- who is going to win this clash of the archetypes? This is not just a matter of style -- Frontier Woman triggers a host of very real American associations -- self-reliance, strong family bonds, courage in the face of danger, moral strength, independent thinking.
On the other side, Metro Chic has its own hold on our Effete Elites. It all comes down to the Western Enlightenment versus Metro Socialism.
Sarah Palin is a mythic figure out of the American imagination. That (is) why she scares the Effetes and Corruptocrats. She's John Wayne and Annie Oakley all rolled into one. Governor Palin is America's Everywoman, who faced and defeated the Corruptocrats in Alaska. Now she is heading up Main Street along with maverick John McCain, the Arizona sheriff, as the comfortable townsfolk are hiding scared under their beds.
And that big cattle baron on the hill? He's sneakily trying to undermine and destroy the Girl Deputy. He controls the newspapers and spreads vicious rumors, just his usual way of doing business. That's the meaning of the Credit "Crisis" and the packed hog sausage Congress just made, supposedly to save us from the Fraud Crisis. We have just seen the cover ripped off an open Washington DC secret --- the blatant ongoing exploitation by Democrats of Freddie and Fannie Home Fraud, which you and I will be paying for, for years to come.
Nothing could better symbolize the clash between our values and theirs. There's Franklin Raines, the 90 million dollar slickster, who told Congress a few years ago that Fannie and Freddie just made free money. Home loans carried no risk! Just open the spigot and it's beer and hog bellies for everybody.
Would you buy a used buggy whip from these guys? From Barack Obama's "home mortgage advisor" Jim Johnson? From Barney Frank's boyfriend at Fannie?
But it's not just the F & F Fraud; it's the phony oil crisis, the global warming hyper-scam, the constant purchase of cheap Leftie votes from the poor, unfortunate and easily suckered, the vicious Eternal Establishment at CIA and Treasury, plus the foreign Rogues Gallery in North Korea, Iran and Russia, and lastly our cowardly "allies" in Europe, all topped off with an endless flow of media lies...
You name it, it all comes down to another mythic metaphor --- the stinking Augean Stables of Washington, DC. In Greek myth it took Hercules to divert a river to wash out the Stables. We could use a few fresh Alaska snowstorms to help out here. The
Potomac River is way too polluted. But the Corruptocrats can see Mac the Sheriff and Sarah the Deputy walking up Main Street, and they've been taking potshots over and over again. They've been at it for a long time, enough to make old Sheriff Bush nearly helpless after eight years of daily abuse.
Is help finally on the way?
You'll see the bullets flying hot and heavy in the last four weeks before November 4. Get ready to duck and weave, and answer them back if you can get a clear shot.
Vote to Save the West on November 4.
That's "West" as in "Western Civilization."
It's all going to come down to you.
Which side are you on?

Dopey
The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning. As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.
As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.
One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there had been a terrible cave-in.
Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.
'Can anyone hear me? Hello!'
For a long while, there was no answer. Losing hope, Snow White again shouted,
'Hello! Is anyone down there?'
she heard a faint voice from deep
within the mine, singing . . ...
'Vote for Barack Obama! - Vote for Barack Obama!'
Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself
and prayed, 'Oh, thank you, God!
At least Dopey is still alive...

Sarah Palin - Smart, Successful, Beautiful, Strong, and BRAVE!
Now, I know how hard that must have been. It's a nontrivial event getting a boat loaded up on a trailer in calm lake waters let alone a raging storm on the ocean! But [Palin's dad] Chuck has seen his daughter handle herself in other perilous situations and come out all right. A few years ago, he watched her pilot husband Todd Palin's commercial fishing boat in a storm. Todd was working at his oil-field job on the North Slope, and Palin and her father had been fishing on Bristol Bay. "It was the toughest work I've ever done, and it wasn't only hard, it was dangerous," Chuck says. At the end of the run, they had to get the boat on a trailer amid crashing surf. As cold, metallic-sheened waves tossed the trawler around, Chuck quailed.
"I'm not doing that," he said.
"Get out of the way," Palin said. "I'll do it."
She did.
That and the story about a grizzly in the car are in Sally Jenkins Washington Post article, Palin's Strengths Rooted in Alaska. Read it all!
Sarah Palin was clearly raised by parents who loved her enough to teach her to take care of herself in the most hazardous situations. God Bless the Heath family!
McCain-Palin leads
Kentucky - John McCain leading Barack Obama 52% to 42%.
Tennessee - John McCain holds a19-point lead over Barack Obama in Tennessee,
Texas - McCain ahead 52% to 43%. "The latest numbers mark the fourth straight month the Republican has held a nine-point lead in the Lone Star State. "
Montana - McCain leading by eight, 52% to 44%.
Obama leads 63% to 32% among voters who name the economy as the top voting issue. McCain lead 74% to 24% among those who say that national security is the highest priority. Fifty percent (50%) of voters say the economy is most important while just 19% see national security that way.
I'd rather be free and destitute than prosperous and constrained.

Reactions to Hugh Hewitt's interview of Sarah Palin yesterday
The Los Angeles Times' Andrew Malcom:
You can bet Biden's aides are poring over the Hewitt interview too, looking for rehearsed response lines for Biden to drop in with apparent spontaneity.
"Governor," Biden might say, "I'm from Scranton, Pa. I know Joe Six-Pack. And, governor, you're no Joe Six-Pack."
Then Palin could pause for the derisive laughter to subside and calmly observe: "Senator, I know a lot of Joe Six-Packs. And not one of them has been living off the United States Senate like you for 36 years."
