Police: You can't take THAT sign into the Townhall

If you do not daily read Holger Awakens, you really should. Among the incredibly terrifying truths you will find there is the following video of a police officer threatening a townhall attendee if he did not put his sign down (ie, you can't take THAT sign into the townhall, not ANY sign just THAT sign) that the attendee would be charged with "anything" the officer wants to charge him with. . If you think that Obama and his followers respect and follow the Constitution, then you need to re-examine your conclusion based on evidence such as in this video.

John Shadegg townhall of August 27, 2009

I attended a second townhall with my congressional representative, John Shadegg Thursday, August 27, 2009. This was smaller than his townhall of August 8 but it was in a very different area more like my own neighborhood. Shadegg has been working on the laws governing heath insurance for most of his time in the Congress. He knows of what he speaks. I was not in favor of any changes until I heard his suggestions and the reasons why. I suggest you all listen to these videos.

Trent Franks townhall of August 25, 2009

I attended Trent Franks townhall on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. The first thing they did was view a screening of 33 Minutes. If you weren't already scared out of your mind, you were when it was over. And with good reason too. 33 minutes is about how long it would take for a missile carrying a nuclear warhead to either US territory or to US Airspace where, if detonated, the country would be devastated by Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP).

Trent Franks is not my current congressional representative. When the districts were redrawn, I was moved into John Shadeggs district. Trent Franks is a good man of deep faith.

Summary of Phone Health Care Town Hall of AZ Congressman Harry Mitchell

This blogger (who i found through a simple google search) has a fairly good summary of AZ Congressman Harry Mitchell's Phone Health Care Town Hall which took place last night:

1) He claims that the bill is “far from ready to be signed.” This I found odd. Why, then, are Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean running around claiming that the dang thing needs to be passed as soon as everybody gets back from their summer recess?

2) He was, in my opinion, kind of fuzzy on whether or not he supported a government option. He started to use the words “alternative option” and a red flag went up in my mind for doublespeak. Several people asked him about the government option. I didn’t end the call with hearing a clear enough answer from him on this issue. This concerns me.

3) He did say that he wouldn’t sign a bill that didn’t promote heath care insurance competition. Again, this seems in direct conflict with the desires of President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, et al. for a single-payer system. He also said that he wouldn’t sign a bill that increased the deficit. Given the current budget deficit, not sure how you do the latter and provide health care to an entire country.

4) He was not in favor of providing health care for illegal immigrants, although he wasn’t clear on how you stop illegal immigrants from using U.S. emergency rooms as their primary care physicians. This is a huge issue for those of us in Arizona.

5) He didn’t answer one woman’s question as to whether he would support government funded abortions through the health care bill.

6) Several times throughout the call, Harry stopped the questioning to take polls—e.g. “Are you happy with your current health care provider? Press 1 for yes; 2 for no.” I found this a bit hokey and would have rather he used the time to take an extra question or two.

It's a good summary with very little bias.

Be Afraid; Be Very Afraid

If you're not already scared witless by the things going on in this country at the behest of socalled Democrats (who are really statists of a variety of stripes but mostly Marxists), then get ready to be scared witless.

McCain Health Care Town Hall in Sun City

I attended Senator McCain's Health Care Town Hall today. My conclusion is that he is, for the most part, on the right side of this issue. Of course, he does have some completely wrong ideas on other issues (like he actually believes the words of a terrorist which told him it used abu ghraib as a recruiting tool - TERRORISTS LIE!) and some of the details of this issue which cause me to conclude that he's an out of touch elitist.

I'm working on getting the videos up on youtube now (Start here but look for an update; will leave the uploads running while I attend the Trent Franks Town Hall).

One thing that was a very pleasant (mild) suprise, was the numbers of attendees. I was there an hour early and even then it was standing room only and the overflow rooms were filling up.

One other thing which was not a pleasant surprise was the incredibly short duration of the townhall. He was there a grand total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. This left the vast majority of those of us with comments and questions unable to speak. The size of the venue was also apparently far too small since local news is already reporting irate constituents who were denied entry.

Tammy Duckworth LIED

I watched Fox News Sunday on the local affiliate this morning to see Tammy Duckworth and Arlen Specter lie about the HR3200 and about the VA's use of Your Life Your Choice. I agree with what Jonah Goldberg said about the episode and, since he's a professional writer I'll just quote him:

I just watched Tammy Duckworth try her best to defend the VA "death book" on Fox News Sunday. The Iraq war veteran was severely wounded as an army aviator, losing both her legs, and is currently an Assistant Secretary at the VA. The administration sent her out to defend the book and to push back against Jim Towey, who first raised the issue. While she admirably held her own, her talking points were often very, very lame (she kept insinuating that Towey's bitter his $5 book isn't free of charge to vets). The upshot was she defended this irretrievably gross book on the merits and attacked the messenger to boot. And here's the thing, the death book is doomed, doomed. It's obvious Obama will pull the thing, because it's the right thing to do and because it's a political no-brainer while he's trying to shake off the "death panel" albatross. So they sent out Duckworth to stake a position that will be reversed, making her look like a fool. Just give it time.

So, Tammy Duckworth and Arlen Specter, thank you for your service. Now quite trying to help the statists take over the country! You know darn well you wouldn't support it unless you thought you'd be part of the elite! oh, but Tammy, we know you were born into it.

Arthur Frommer verbally smacked on his own blog!

The other day, I posted about Arthur Frommer and his ignorance about Arizona. Today, I encourage everyone to read the comments in response to his idiocy on his own blog! He has been verbally taken out back behind the woodshed and beaten to to a mental pulp with a switch of his own choosing by over 600 freedom-loving Americans.

Many Arizonans posted sentiments similar to my own... good Frommer! We don't need you around anyhow!

Local radio host and former Congressman JD Hayworth said as much on KFYI yesterday too. Speaking of JD, he does a Weenie of the Week feature every Friday afternoon (in the 5 o'clock hour). Yesterdays Weenie of the Week, overwhelming voted the honor by his listeners, was the MSNBC3 who blatantly LIED about Chris The Libertarian who is black and a threat to no one.
