Good News! More wimps avoiding AZ!

I cannot believe the wimpy sensibilities of "travel guide writer Arthur Frommer" who says he is skipping Arizona for safety reasons after he was "shocked beyond measure" after he saw a "civilian carry loaded weapons onto the sidewalks".

Well Mr. Frommer, we may only be the SouthWest, but we don't need you around anyhow.

I am glad to hear that wimps like you are avoiding my magnificent state where it's legal to carry weapons for ANY reason. I will be avoiding your wimpy travel guides, not just temporarily, but for the rest of my life. Period. No negotiations with idiots who advocate that I give up a single one of my God-given rights. EVER!

I already wrote in defense of the guy with the AR15. I'd much rather share my state with him than with wimps like Frommer.

Arizonan jarring the statists

I saw this clip at StoptheACLU noting that MSNBC tried to paint the legal carrying of weapons in phoenix as racist against the first black president. I thought the fellow looked very familiar so I checked my video and I think he is the last guy to speak at the Q&A. I'm not sure if it's the same guy and I know it doesn't matter. It's just a curiosity really. But, if it is the same person, I can tell you that as I left the Townhall, I spent a few minutes in the back of the room right next to him. He was speaking very politely and very earnestly about Ron Paul. Not that that matters either (and no I am not and was not a Ron Paul supporter). My point is simply that he demonstrated a calm, quiet, patient manner the entire time he was at the townhall.

And, for those of you unfamiliar with the laws of the state of Arizona, no permits nor registration of ordinary weapons is required here. Open carry of any legal weapon is perfectly legal here. AZ is also a "shall issue" state of concealed carry permits. So, the hysterical with wimpy sensibilities and irrational fear of guns should just get over being "jarred" by the sight of a weapon in the hands of someone who is not law enforcement or military (they probably don't even know what posse comitatus means); they should also stop attempting to change the internal laws of the state of Arizona. And, to those who yearn to live free to carry weapons and defend themselves, move here to Arizona!

SRP begs for stimulus funds for "Smart Meters"

Salt River Project (SRP), local provider of electricity to the metropolitan Phoenix area has gone begging to the Federal Government for nearly $80 million to deploy "smart" meters & a meter data management system, a secure intelligent system integration project, and for a study to assess the potential for underground carbon sequestration.

I don't want to be an alarmist on the topic of "smart" meters. I understand and support the move to a more efficient way to measure a customers use of electricty because, as a Capitalist, more efficient delivery of goods and services should bring prices down but since utilities are actually monopolies in their respective areas, it doesn't. I understand and wholeheartedly endorse the use of technology to make our electrical grid more secure against any and all threats although no one has yet invented a way of protecting us all from the ultimate threat of Electromagnetic Discharge in the unfortunate event of an airbust nuclear attack.

BUT, when I hear certain politicians (President Obama) talk about the concept that smart meters will ultimately (someday) be capable of regulating our electric usage, that concerns me. I don't want the USA to become a country where the government tells an individual that they only have a certain allotment of energy. If a person has the means to pay for something (legal) and is willing to do so, then leave them alone! Yes, even algore and his Tennessee mansion (which uses thousands of times the amount of energy of a typical Tennesse home - yes, he's a hypocrit for telling everyone else to use less but I don't think he's stiffing the power company).

And, since this is almost exclusively predicated upon reducing carbon in our atmosphere, even though it is NOT a pollutant, which in turn is based almost exclusively on the fear of global warming (in spite of the fact that the planet has NOT warmed in the last decade, and in spite of history showing that warm periods are better for humans and all living things), I can't get behind the effort.

Among his findings...the Federal government will decide not only who lives and dies, but also who is allowed to have children (not too many too quickly now!), they'll tell you how to parent, the school health offices will become federal agents (you think it's bad now? just wait until they start shipping your kid around for abortions when she makes a mistake - God forbid!, they'll mandate vaccines (or what?), and they'll share ALL your health information with law enforcement (WHY??) :

Do not assume they've given up! They never give up! The goal remains full federal government control over YOU. They are just switching tactics and maybe realizing that it might take longer. But they are NOT giving up! And neither should we! Keep up the pressure on everyone!

Phoenix Police have NO 1st Amendment Rights

Just reported locally....

Phoenix police who were on duty at Sky Harbor Airport were told if their personal vehicles which they drove to the airport, had any anti-Obama stickers, to park their vehicles against the walls of the buildings so they could not be seen when Obama landed.

Just one more Obama outrage.

But, we do still have our 2nd Amendment rights here in AZ...

A man carrying an AR-15 assault rifle attended the protests. Police at the scene said he did not need a permit for the gun and he was not arrested. They said the man was walking around and was not involved in any protest activity.
The man declined to give his name to The Arizona Republic.
``Because I can do it,'' he said when asked why he was armed.
``In Arizona, I still have some freedoms.

CNN says these guys were among the Obama supporters! Damn, now that's brave! CNN reporter, of course, found it "kind of jarring".

Some local personalities are saying oh, gee, maybe he shouldn't have done that; it just wasn't the time or the place. BULL! He had every right to carry that or any other legal weapon any place it was legal! Why should Arizonans give up their rights for the wimpy sensibilities of outsiders or media personalities? Furthermore, these people have been threatened; they've been told that they are being followed and that their homes might just "go up; poof!"

Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday's event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested.

There was a Citizens Townhall today across the street from where the Prez spoke to the VFW. Former Congressman J. D. Hayworth hosted with AZ Congressman Trent Franks and Dr. M Zhudi Jasser appearing. Signs and/or slogans at the protest today which numbered close to 1000:

I have completed the summaries of Congressman Shadegg's townhall which I attended last Saturday.

Please, especially note this portion in segment 18:

SCOTUS ruled that if you get your health care from your employer under an ERISA plan and that plan wrongfully denies you care you cannot sue the plan for damages.

In this bill, the ruling of ERISA saying that insurance companies that sell ERISA plans are immune, are applied to employer provided plans going forward.Shadegg confronted Waxman about that point. Waxman turned as red as the red stripe on that flag. Last week Pelosi called the health insurance industry crooks, evil and that Pelosi was going to destroy them and that their day of ruling America is over in a bill where she cut, what Shadegg thinks, is a secret backroom deal to give them immunity when they kill or hurt somebody in insurance coverage denials.
