Arizona to supply 2009 Capitol Christmas Tree

I find it strange that, while my state is being honored with the privilege of supplying the 2009 Capitol Christmas Tree, I have heard nothing about it. In fact, I discovered this quite by accident while looking for something else entirely.

But, it is indeed true that Arizona, The Grand Canyon State, will be providing the Capitol Christmas Tree this year. I'll try to find information about it between now and Christmas.

Last years White House Christmas was magnificent. So patriotic. It was inspiring. I think i'll get one of those aluminum trees like we had when i was a kid and decorate it with sparkling Red, White, and Blue ornaments this year.

In fact, this entire commercial seems to indicate that if you're too stupid to tell the difference between their brewed coffee and their new instant, then have they got the coffee for you!

Obama awarded Nobel Peace Prize

President Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO -- President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation
between peoples," the Norwegian Nobel Committee said, citing his outreach to the
Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.

Unbelievable. The world is insane.

Live Free Or Die Billboard

Now that's making a statement! Someone really put a bit of money where their mouth is with this one.

Notice in the story (below) that those who deem it "offensive" want it removed. Typlical. "You offend me therefore you must be silenced".

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- Drivers on Interstate 70 can barely see the billboard but once they do the message has been gaining attention.

The billboard is located along I-70 between the Adams Dairy Parkway and the Grain Valley exits. The billboard reads, "How do you like your change now? Obama Nation. They are coming for you! The Taxpayer. First and Second Amendments are in jeopardy. Live free or Die." There is also a hammer and sickle on the sign.

People said they might not agree with the sentiment of the sign, but they felt it was a
matter of free speech. Others that KCTV5 talked to said it is offensive and should come down.

A pastor who drives by the sign during his daily commute to his church said he lived in England for years and he agreed with the message.

"We lived in a socialist society and I guess what I am seeing in America is that we are pushing to some of those ways now," he said. "Especially the hospitalization. It's taken away some of our freedoms as Americans."

KCTV5 could not reach the owner of the billboard. The mayor of Blue Springs said hisoffice has gotten calls and e-mails about the sign.

Patriots in Dalhart TX

A soldier from Dalhart is killed by enemy forces in Afghanistan.

The department of defense has confirmed 28-year-old Sergeant David Davis died Saturday from wounds suffered when forces attacked the Bagram Airport.

He was assigned to the 32nd Transportation Company, 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade and 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

Davis' decorations include two Army Commendation Medals and the Army Achievement Medal.
